By the way, Out of Picture 2 is on sale NOW!!!!
I can’t believe it’s finally out… I delivered the book to our publisher at the end of last October – one week before my daughter was born – and it’s finally on store shelves.
I really think this volume is quite a leap for us as a group of artists. There’s a much stronger emphasis on story, and the diversity of artists (as well as the sheer number) is really amazing. The main thing that struck me about it as I finished laying the book out, was how consistently strong all the stories and artwork are, but also how unique each approach to storytelling and illustrating turned out to be.
Needless to say, I’m a little biased – I know and love everyone in this book, so I hope that if you happen to grab a copy that you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed putting the book together. It’s a labor of love in all the best ways, and all the contributors put their hearts and souls into it.
Hey man it was great meeting you at Mocca this year! I really appreciate the comments and crits you gave my prints. Advice I will definitely apply to future art projects. Awesome work in Out of Picture 2 by the way! It’s just as good if not better than the first one. Wow, I sound like such a kiss ass but it’s true! Stay frosty.

Hey Mike,
I was at Barnes the other day, and I picked up a copy of Out of Picture 2. Man there is some awesome stuff in there! I was really digging how the pencil shows through in your finishes. Is there any chance that you would make a full sized graphic novel? I know it might take more time than you have, but it sure would be fun to read the rest of the story in the world you’ve created. I’m always happy to see more of your work. Take care

Adam – Great to hear from you, man. I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed my story. I’d love to eventually flesh out the rest of the story, but it’ll probably a good loooooong time before I get the chance. I’d really like to work a little more painting into the imagery, though. At least in small doses…
Best – Mike
